Finally the 2.2 conversion is at hand

Unread postby davidscar » Tue Apr 16, 2019 2:53 pm

Calling all LeSharo mechanics and creative customizers. The time has finally come to upgrade Pops 1984 2.1 Turbodiesel engine to a 2.2 fuel injected system. Chris Spencer has agreed to do the work for a handsome fee and the original 2.1 TD engine.
If anyone has done this swap, has theories and knowledgable input about this, please get in touch. I'm trying to set up a basline checklist of parts needed, wiring to be done, generally what you would need to do this swap.
I've been planning this swap and aquiring parts/knowledge for at least 1.5 years, so there are threads on the subject. I'm writing this post in case there are new members with new ideas.
Sometime in May is the initial project start. I will be documenting this engine upgrade and will put the info on the forums when done. Feel free to share this to anyone related to LeSharos and Renaults in general.

Thanks in advance
Dave S

David,
Glad you're getting it done.
One you have a reliable engine/drivetrain combo you'll love it even more.
I have no regrets about doing mine.
