Raising Roof Mounted Antenna

Unread postby catman » Mon Oct 29, 2018 10:49 pm

Hello All,
Can anyone tell me how to raise the roof mounted antenna on my 1986 LeSharo? I don't see anywhere that it is secured (locked) on the roof, but turning the crank on the inside has no effect on it either.

I have an 84 TD, that didn't come with one. I've toyed with adding it... unit I put on 600W worth of solar, and now I don't have a great place to put it....

On your year, I believe it came with a standard Winegard crank up TV antenna. Those are famous for working for decades, yet the worm and sector gear on those are famous for breaking.

Here's a video I found that shows how they work (and clues on how to fix one.)

He even gives part numbers, and installs a new cover plate that says "Lubricate Twice A Year" <G>
