Windshield & Gasket

Unread postby tstefani » Thu Feb 01, 2018 4:17 pm

I am looking for a Windshield and Gasket for my 1988 LeSharo.
The windshield can be new or used.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

There is a west coast place, (I think out of portland area), that will
either have one on hand (the windshield for the lesharo), or will make
molds and create one if they don't. I got a quote about a month ago
for about $700 as I recall, from the local windshield guy here in
Moscow, ID to get one from this group, but shipping was high. I'll
call them back tomorrow and find out again who it was and will verify
what that quote was in case they are close enough to you to think
about picking up directly from them. I'll post that to you on the
messages here if I can tomorrow.

I called in this morning to get the info on the place in Oregon that
will has the lesharo Windshields. The name of the business is *Coach
Glass*, and they are in Coburg Oregon. The phone is *800-714-7171*.
If they don't have the glass in, I was told that they will actually
fabricate a windshield, make new molds, etc. The address is *91302 N.
Coburg Industrial Way, Coburg OR 97408*. Shipping is a huge expense
with these items, but if you're anywhere near there it c
could be worth picking one up in person. They can install there as well.
Here is their online website as well:*http://www.coachglass.com/*
A quick glance at the website and I notice that they have gaskets
and moldings listed there as well as general topic. I did not explore
the website to see the details. If you get one here, please let us
know how that goes and how much you paid for it.

The old LesharoLand # still works last I checked. They changed the name. Greg died and his mechanic bought it. Forget at the moment. Something llc. Anyhow the # I have is. They are next to Boseman.

Thanks, that will help. Our windshield is so spattered with rock
chips, tiny ones, that it's getting hard to look out of it at night.
We'll check out the replacement costs with both these places.
Unfortunately, the company we are with doesn't want to cover
replacement costs as we have only been with them a couple years. If we
had a new injury to the windshield, they would cover it, but not the
cumulative road glare and distortion from chips.

Isn't there a local gravel company whose trucks you can follow until a rock breaks your windshield?

You make me laugh... as the local fellow who gave me the info about
the coach glass place in Oregon suggested the section of road that he
most often got his claims from, with the same intention. He was
surprised that they wouldn't opt to replace a windshield like this one
for safety reasons, but to be truthful, we have not seen additional
excessive damages since moving to this new company and I can see why
they wouldn't feel it's their duty to replace a window that was
gradually damaged over time, not particularly during the time period
of my ownership of a policy with them. On a bad snow year here in our
area we'd be likely to find a good deal of gravel and this year it's
only been raining on this side of the country, most of the winter...
amazingly mild. You know, that big hit on the window probably won't
happen till Just after we opt to replace the current one... murphy's
law, ya know... :-\ :-)
