Thanks for the reply. The trans fluid looks and smells great. No burning indication. It has been sitting for 10 to 15 years. Cold, it is way up the stick. I plan to change it. I did change the oil. I was hoping to try to start it before I change it. It looks fresh. The reason I have not tried to start the LS is Im still trying to get around to ridding the old gas which was previously discussed. Its in a storage yard. I need a stronger jack. I was told by a stranger to hook up a wet dry vac to fuel filter. Also suggested is to jump the fuel pump. Since sitting so long I was thinking thats why the high trans fluid on the stick cold. I guess I should drain some before trying to start it. The engine shows just under 30,000 miles. 1989. Im Hoping for the best or parts. Got it cheap.

Fred,

Don't drain it, it will be high on the stick if the engine is not running and in park.

There are 2 level indicators on the stick..... one for hot level, one for cold level.

Cheers, Scott
